Herb retired from Metro Toronto Police after 30 years of service as Detective Sargent at 52 Div. He was an avid birdwatcher and woodworker, enjoying his time at both hobbies. Born in Gravenhurst Ontario, to Walter and Cecilia Parke, predeceased by his brother Frank (Edna). He was a loving husband to Geraldine (Gerry), father of David (Cindy) and Bruce (Tina). Grandfather to Andrew (Sarah), Brandon (Ashlyn) Christian, Dawson, Mariah (Joey) and Elaina (Cody). Great-grandfather to Fiona and Aislinn.
His whit, humor and love for his family will be sadly missed by all.
In lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.
