Herbert Nickerson
Herbert Byron Nickerson affectionately known as
‘Herb’, age 78 of East Pubnico died April 14, 2023
in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in East Pubnico, he was
a son of the late Elmer ‘Barney’ Clifton and
Ophelia Edith (Nickerson) Nickerson. He was a retired
fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Nickerson)
Nickerson, son Ritchie, Yarmouth and daughter Shelley, Central
Chebogue, brothers; Joe (Cora), Ray (Elaine) both of Pubnico, Owen
(Cora), East Pubnico, Wayne (Maisie), Woods Harbour, James (Helena),
Lower East Pubnico, sisters; Margaret (Dale Peters) Nickerson, East
Pubnico, Nancy Quinlan, Shag Harbour, Beverley (Rudy)
O’Connor and Edith Harris, both of Jordan Falls, Patricia
(Doward) McComiskey, East Pubnico, sister-in-law Beverly, East
Pubnico, grandchildren; Ashley (Shawn), Brie-Anne, Danyon,
Emma, Seth and Spencer, great grandchildren; Luna, Nyomi-Lynn, Wyatt
and Solomon, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers; Clifton, William, Blanchard
and Fred (in infancy), sisters; Rita and Joyce.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April
18th, from 7-8:30pm and a funeral will be held
Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 10am with Rev A.D. Bill Newell
officiating, all taking place in the West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle
West Pubnico, 1125 Route 335, Middle West Pubnico. The
service will be live streamed on the West Pubnico Funeral Home
Facebook site beginning at 10am. Donations in memory may be
made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund or online to
the Children’s Wish Foundation. Family flowers
only please. On line condolences may be forwarded to the
family at westpubnicofh.com. Funeral arrangements
have been entrusted to the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Middle West Pubnico. 902 762-3407.
Herbert enjoyed hunting with his «buddies’ and
fishing with his friends Billy & St. He also enjoyed
road trips with his best friend, and wife, Debbie; when the
grandchildren were younger, they took them on many road trips and
across Pubnico Lake. As the grandchildren grew up, Herbert
& Debbie enjoyed getaways on their
own.
Herbert loved his family very much. He enjoyed time
spent with his wife, children, grandchildren/great grandchildren, and
special nephew, Danny. He will be forever missed by everyone
who knew and loved him.

(we so appreciated your home visits and care), EHS paramedics, Dana
and Troy (we appreciated your kindness & compassion), the
doctors and nurses in the ER Department, Yarmouth Regional Hospital,
and we appreciate all who have reached out with your words of kindness
and support.
