Mrs. Helen Margaret Walton-McCann, a resident of Wallaceburg, formerly of Port Lambton, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Chatham at the age of 92.
Helen was born in Walpole Island and was a daughter of the late Archie and Margaret (Webb) Highfield.
Beloved wife of the late Hugh McCann (2016) and the late Kenneth Walton (1988).
Loving mother of Carol (Bruce) Thompson, Michael Walton, Murray (Dianne) Walton and Martin Walton and stepmother of Robert McCann, Hugh (Mandy) McCann Jr., Darlene (Doug) Bateman, and Bill Ballantyne.
Sadly missed by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her her grandson Adam, her sister Marian (Nick) Davich, and her brothers Ernest (Lily May) Highfield, Joseph (Alice) Highfield, Clarence (May) Highfield, Allen (Lorraine) Highfield and Simpson (Lorraine) Brigham.
Helen was a member of St. James Anglican Church in Port Lambton, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 18 and a District Commissioner of Girl Guides of Canada.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Cremation will take place with a service to be held at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Clair River Trail may be left at the funeral home.

AT MOST OF THEM AUNT HELEN & AUNT ALICE WERE ALWAYS THE HIT OF THE REUNION.
AUNT HELEN WAS ALWAYS READY TO HELP ANYONE OUT. SHE WORKED HARD TO GET THE TRAIL UP & RUNNING. OVER THE YEARS WE ENJOYED OUR VISITS WITH AUNT HELEN.
GOD KNEW AUNT HELEN WAS TIRING & HE CALLED HER HOME (HEAVEN) TO BE WITH HIM FOREVER
