FERGUSON, Helen May
Helen Ferguson of Ingersoll on Friday May 24, 2024 in her 85th year. Daughter of Grace and Howard Brown, Helen grew up in Ridgetown. Beloved wife of the late Tom Ferguson. During their 57 years of marriage, they lived in Ridgetown and Grimsby before settling and raising their family in Ingersoll. Much loved mother of Tom Ferguson (Lois), Tim Ferguson (Lilly) and Joan McHugh (Bob). Cherished Gramma of Seth (Darcie), Conor, Alina (Anthony), Oran, Rourke, Gowan, Timothy, Wayne (Jayda), Leah, Evan (Amelia), Jenna, Kirk and Great Grandchildren Thalia, Rhea, Callan, Adeline, and Ryker. Treasured eldest sister of Karen Brophy (Dick), with whom she shared a special bond, and the late Harold Brown (Janice) and the late Howard Brown. Sister-in-law of the late Martin Ferguson (Betty) and David Ferguson (Marie). Helen took great pride in all her nieces and nephews and cherished her many friendships and extended family. She embodied an incredible zest for life, generous spirit, strong opinions, unconditional love, and fierce loyalty. You could never leave her without a big smile on your face and feeling better than when you arrived.
Helen embraced technology wholeheartedly as she saw it as her means of staying connected to loved ones who were not able to visit her as frequently as she would have liked. She was very motivated to master her cell phone, iPad, and Apple watch which she always kept close to hand!
She lived by four Fs in life – Family, Friends, Fun and Food. The order changed depending on the day.
Helen worked for many years at the CIBC, retiring in 1994. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Scleroderma Society of Canada may be made through the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home at 519-425-1600.
A celebration of a life well lived will be held on June 23rd, 2024 at Elm Hurst Inn. Details to follow.
