Helen Cecilia «Ceci» Schaller
(Abbott) – 72, Truro, passed away peacefully, with
her loving daughter at her side, on Wednesday evening, July 5, 2023 at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Sydney, she was a
daughter of the late Paul and Cecilia (Cooke) Schaller.
Throughout Ceci’s life, she had been affected by
numerous health issues, and most recently, diagnosed with cancer in
December; despite these hardships, she always greeted you with a smile
and never let her health problems get her down. She enjoyed doing
crossword puzzles and looked forward to sitting on the deck with a
glass of dry white wine to sip on. Above all, her absolute pride and
joy was her grandson, Connor; she and Connor did everything together
and they shared an inseparable bond.
Ceci is survived by her daughter, Melissa Abbott (Adam
Dodge), Truro; grandson, Connor, who was the light of her life;
siblings, Gerry (Louise), Barbara (Gilles), Ronald «Ronnie»
(Susan), Raymond (Rosemarie), Patricia (John), Jane; sisters-in-law,
Evelyn Schaller, Hélène Allard; many nieces,
nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband, Wilfred Abbott; siblings, Doug, Joanne (Guy), Robert
«Bobby»; niece, Noreen.
Special thanks are extended to all of the staff on Palliative
Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for your care and
compassion.
Honouring Ceci’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations in
Ceci’s memory to Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) are
welcomed.
