It is with a heavy heart that the family of Harvey Lev announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, December 31, 2023, in Truro, Nova Scotia, three days after his seventy-second birthday. Beloved partner of Judith S. Bauer. Dear father and father-in-law of Jesse Lev, Noah Lev and Sabina Aliyeva, Aaron Lev and Ayami Ikebe. Proud and loving ‘Zsazsa’ of Alyssa and Asana. Devoted brother and brother-in-law of Dorothy and Derek Leivers, Bev Lev and Bill Kuhns. Dear uncle to Nicole and her family. Devoted son of the late Iser Lev and the late Ida (Koplowitz) Lev.
Harvey and his devoted partner, Judith Bauer, have lived a super-creative lifestyle enabling and promoting art and culture in Montreal and Parrsboro, NS, along the shores of the stunning Minas Basin – a natural environment that captured Harvey’s spirit and imagination more than a decade ago. Harvey began promoting the arts in Montreal and internationally while running his businesses in Montreal with sons.
He was a colourful man who lived his life on his own terms in every way and left indelible marks. He worked hard, carrying on the family legacy, and blazing his own trail. He enjoyed his business life, heritage buildings, his massive and eclectic book collection, and the many colourful people he befriended along the way. All who knew Harvey knew him for his generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by Kaos and Hari – his companions along the shores and in the woods.
