Obituary
Guidonna Lee Terzi Dugan, age 76, passed away, surrounded by family, after a 16-month battle with cancer, on the evening of Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Intercare Chinook Hospice in Calgary.
She was born April 18, 1947, in Calgary, to Guido and Mathilde (Maiden name Schultz) Terzi, and was the youngest of three children. She was born to sing, and at a young age, won the Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival’s coveted Rose Bowl. In 1970 she received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Calgary. Guidonna recorded her own LP in 1980 entitled “Lessons of Love” as Guidonna Lee. She later finished her Master’s Degree in Musical Composition at the University of Calgary in 2012.
While music filled her soul, her family filled her heart, and she nourished people around her with love, faith, and music. She married James Dugan on December 19, 1987, and they raised 3 sons shortly after.
Guidonna was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Terzi Sr. (1935 – 2012); and sister, Louise Grove (1936 – 1992). Guidonna leaves behind her husband of nearly 35 years, James Dugan; sons Gabriel, Zachary and Aidan Dugan; daughters-in-law, Tracy Dugan and Krystyn Dugan; granddaughter, Na’ima Dugan; brother-in-law, Ken Grove, and his children Wayne and Linda; nephew, Richard; nieces, Maureen, Richelle, and Marisa; and many more friends, extended family and colleagues.
Family, friends, and those whose lives Guidonna touched are invited to the Memorial service held on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services, (3625 12 Street NE, Calgary). A Graveside Service will follow at Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery, where we will have a short Service of Committal.
