Obituary
Greta Marie Tuttle Tratt – 90, Wentworth, passed away May 13, 2024 in East Cumberland Lodge. Greta was born in Wentworth, Cumberland County on July 6, 1933. She was a daughter of the late Lillian (Tuttle) Tratt and Heber Tratt. Greta’s early education was in the one room Wentworth Centre School to Grade XI. Then she went to Mount Allison University where she graduated with a BA Secretarial Degree in 1955. After working in the Registrar’s Office at Mount A for two years, she traveled to Edmonton Alberta in 1957. She worked in the Department of Physics (non-academic staff) at the University of Alberta until 1991. In 1991 she returned to Wentworth and lived in the old home until 1996 when she built a new house in Lower Wentworth. She remained there until she moved to Willow Lodge in Tatamagouche in the fall of 2006. She lived here in her own apartment until she moved to East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash. Greta was predeceased by both parents; sisters, Gertrude Tratt, Elsie Langille, Grace Tratt, Hope Bridgewater; brother, Wilfred and a brother who died in infancy. She is survived by sister-in-law, Barbara (Smith) Tratt; nephew, Gregory Bridgewater and niece, Janet Tratt. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral services by request. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 in Wentworth Cemetery.
