And a large circle of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends
Predeceased by:

Glyn’s childhood was spent in Mount Pearl as one of seven children. After graduating from Bishop’s College in 1971 he joined the Navy for 7 years, where this was just the beginning of Glyn’s travels. During his time in the Navy he was stationed in CFB Halifax and CFB Comox on the Saguenay. As he fulfilled his Naval duties he made his way back to Newfoundland, where he then married the love of his life – Joan. Together they built a home, a life and a family together in Coley’s Point, with their sons Jason and Michael. Glyn also started a business, Island Sails, where he had the honour of sewing the very first Newfoundland flag as you know it today. Glyn’s work as a Radar Technician for offshore ice patrol with PAL brought the family to Chamberlains for several years, however the path led them back to Coley’s Point once again when Glyn began working as a Radio Op offshore with Transocean. During this time Glyn had the opportunity to work on the Henry Goodrich, Grand Banks, Sedco 706, Erik Raud, and travelling further across the globe to Scotland, the Gulf of Mexico, and Africa before retiring in 2013.
During their life together Glyn and Joan enjoyed travelling together to warmer destinations or locally by RV, even enjoying many recent summers in “the park”. Glyn actively followed golf, baseball and curling while enjoying a coffee or drink of Scotch. During retirement, grandchildren now helped fill his time and his heart. Avery and Maggie were sure to keep Glyn busy with games, crafts or being helpers no matter what the job entailed. They were his reason to get up each day to see what delights and adventures they had in store for him.
