Jollymore, Gloria Dale – passed away March 2, 2023. Gloria had a passion for gathering people and we loved to gather with her. She was a cherished, exuberant and caring member of the Jollymore, MacKay, MacDonald and MacAulay clans. She was an unforgettable friend and co-worker to anyone who had the good fortune of crossing paths with her.
Gloria was born in Hamilton, ON to Dale and Pauline (nee MacKay) Jollymore on November 18, 1956 and grew up on the family farm on Brule Point. She loved to study, work, travel and celebrate and was never happier than when she could combine these skills together. Gloria attended Mount Allison University for her undergraduate studies in Arts and Saint Mary’s University for her MBA. She derived great joy from her experiences working and studying in Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton, Edinburgh, Mexico and Canterbury, but especially loved her summer cottage on Brule Point. After a successful career at Tim Horton Donut as their Director of Marketing, Gloria spent the rest of her career at her beloved Mount Allison University finishing as VP University Advancement.
Gloria is survived by her parents Dale and Pauline, sister Cynthia, sister-in-law Charlene, brother Mark (Michelle), nieces Ashlee (Paul Bichler) and Breann (Erik Tremblay), nephew Alex, grand niece Madeline, grand nephews Nash and Rhett. Gloria is predeceased by her brother Gregg.
A visitation will be held at Coulter’s Funeral Home in Tatamagouche, NS from 2–4 pm on Friday, March 10. A funeral service will be held at Brule Union Church at 2 pm on Saturday March 11.
Gloria and her family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Cancer Nova Scotia, Dartmouth General Hospital and Hospice Halifax for the excellent care she was given. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Halifax or the Brule Union Church.
