It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of Glenna Giffin, age 70, of
Amherst and formerly of Hantsport, NS on October 13, 2024 at the
Cumberland Regional Healthcare Centre following a brief
illness.
Glenna’s passion for children led her to
a career as an Educational Assistant. Throughout her time
within the schools, she touched the lives of many children.
She adored all of her students and her co-workers.
For the past 21 years, she took on her
most cherished role as Nana. Her grandchildren were the
light of her life, and she found immense joy and purpose in being part
of theirs. She loved them deeply and treasured every moment
spent with them.
She is survived by her loving spouse of
49 years, Larry Giffin, as well as her four children, Shawn (Irene),
Sheri (Dan), Kim (Nicholas), and Lori (Chris).
She will be deeply missed by her
grandchildren, Karter, Kennedy, Dale, Maddy, Vaughn, Amelia, Nora and
Kainan.
In addition, she leaves behind her four
brothers, many extended family and lifelong friends as well as her
little dog, Margarita.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her mother-in law and her grandson, Leo.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street,
Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A private family gathering will
be held at a later date.
Donations in Glenna’s memory may be made
to the Lillian Albon Animal Shelter.
