Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Glenn Schur of Winnipeg and formerly of the Endeavour District, announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was 66 years of age.
Funeral services will he held on Saturday, September 2nd at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home.
The interment will follow in the Normandy Cemetery, west of Endeavour.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Schur on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He is survived by his wife Regina, his two children Rebecca (Adam) and Sarah, his siblings Gary (Judy), Dale, and Bonnie, his step-sibling Jo Ann (Keith), and many other family members, friends, and loved ones. He is predeceased by his mother Evelyn (1961), his father Walter (1989), his step-brother David (2015), and his step-mother Isabel (2021).
Glenn Charles Schur was born on April 30, 1957, to Evelyn (née Wilder) and Walter Schur in Endeavour, Saskatchewan. Glenn was one of four children. He had two older brothers, Gary and Dale, and a younger sister Bonnie.
Glenn’s ability to excel in school started at an early age. In elementary school, he was able to skip a grade and then went on to finish high school in two and a half years. After he graduated high school, Glenn continued his studies into college and university. Among his degrees were diplomas in Administration and Culinary Arts, a Bachelor’s of Commerce, and a certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
After growing up in Endeavour, Glenn lived in many places across Canada throughout his life. He spent time in Saskatoon, SK, Wetaskiwin, AB, Penticton, BC, and Warman, SK, before settling in Winnipeg, MB, for the last 18 years.
Glenn’s life also brought him a broad range of work experiences. After high school, he worked in construction before deciding to go back to school. After college, he went on to manage a hotel restaurant and a senior’s home. For the majority of his life, he worked as an accountant for the Canada Revenue Agency before retiring at the age of 60.
In 1991, Glenn married his first wife Marcia and they had two children: Rebecca Elizabeth and Sarah Lynn. In August of 2006, Glenn and Regina became partners and later married. As a father, Glenn enjoyed taking his children camping and on road trips to see family in other provinces. His children also remember fun times spent at amusement parks, the movie theatre, and the beach with their dad. One of Glenn’s favourite meals to make and eat for dinner was pancakes, which his children will always remember him by.
Glenn was actively involved in his work unions and several associations during his retirement years. At different points, he was President of the Manitoba Seniors Golf Association, Acting President of the PIPSC Retired Members Guild for Winnipeg and Southern Manitoba, and Director for the National Association of Federal Retirees.
In his free time, Glenn had many hobbies that he enjoyed doing. Such as golfing, sailing, working on cars, playing sudoku, and travelling. Some of his most notable trips in the past year included driving through the United States to see New Orleans, a cruise through the Caribbean, and visiting family in Australia. In summer, Glenn liked to spend most of his time at the cabin.
