It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda Blondeau. Glenda passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2024, at the R.K. Nursing Home in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Glenda was born in New Waterford Nova Scotia to Joyce Campbell (McKenzie) and the late James Blondeau.
Glenda loved to cook, do crafts, and feed the hummingbirds. Glenda was an animal lover with a soft spot for all animals. She loved to spoil her family in any way she could; especially her mother.
Glenda had reconnected with her son Michael after many years apart. Michael was born in British Columbia where he was raised by Glenda’s best friend Janet. When Michael was a young adult he moved to Nova Scotia to reconnect with his mother. Over the years they formed a beautiful bond out of love and respect for each other. Michael was Glenda’s pride and joy.
Glenda is survived by her son Michael; granddaughter, Autumn McEachern; mother, Joyce Campbell; brothers, Glen (Debbie), Innisfil Ontario; Kevin (Shirley), Mississauga, Ontario; and David, Port Hawkesbury; sisters, Wanda Port Hawkesbury; Lisa Dartmouth; Wendy Mississauga; Cathy Port Hawkesbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Glenda was predeceased by her son, Freddy; brother, Wayne (Dicky); stepfather, Dave Campbell; maternal grandparents, Tom McKenzie and Irene McKenzie (Dieltgens); and paternal grandparents, Amos Blondeau and Laura Blondeau (McNeil); and the 4 legged love of her life, Blue.
She will be missed by all.
Special thanks go out to the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home and Dr. Cooper for their excellent care and patience with Glenda.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. There will be no service as per Glenda’s request. Online condolences can be made through Green’s Funeral Home
