It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Robert White of Saskatoon. Glen was re-united with his parents Bob and Millie White and with his older brother Kenneth White on October 2nd, 2023.
Glen was residing at the Sherbrooke Community Center when he passed away, having failed to recover from a heart attack suffered May 29, 2023.
Glen was born Dec 28, 1958 in Wadena, Sk. He was born deaf and as a result the family moved to Saskatoon in the mid 60’s so he could attend the School for the Deaf. Glen loved his cars, and whichever one he owned it was always kept in meticulous condition. Glen also loved Christmas, this was his favorite time of year. He often dressed up as Santa Claus and was known for giving unusual yet practical gifts.
Glen leaves to mourn; brother Dale (Grace) of Saskatoon, sister Cheryl Olson (Arlen) of Saskatoon and brother Jerry (Doreen) of Saskatoon, Uncle Sid White of Wadena, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at City Hospital, Royal University Hospital and Sherbrooke Community Centre for the care that they provided for Glen during his illness.
A special thanks to Brandy at Saskatchewan Deaf and Hard of Hearing office for her many hours interpreting for Glen during his medical visits.
And a very special thanks to Akane and Tyler from CNIB Deaf Blind community Services who became a very important part of Glen’s life over the past couple of years and especially over the past few months interpreting on Glen’s behalf for the doctors and nurses involved with his care.
Glen will be missed by his family but we are comforted knowing that his once broken body is now whole. A memorial service will be held at a later date for immediate family members.
