Glen Douglas Boomer – 62, Truro, passed away peacefully in
the early morning of Thursday, April 6, 2023, after an almost eight
year battle with cancer.
Glen is survived by his beloved partner, Carrie Johnson; son,
Shawn (Nicole); daughters, Mandy (Barry), Brandi (Scott), Jordan
(Johnathan), Shaylee (Tyler); his mother, Mary Boomer; brothers,
Steven, Shawn, Bruce; sisters, Valerie (Rene), Wanda (Gary), Cindy
(Michael); grandchildren, Scarlett, Wrenly, Mya, Preston, Jaxson,
Seth, Emma, Lauren, soon to be born grandson; several cousins, nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Boomer;
brothers, Billy Boomer, Gary Boomer; sister, Beverly
Kaulback.
Glen was an amazing father who loved his family dearly. He
had a hard work ethic and strived to give them a good life. Glen loved
being around friends and family the most, playing pool, darts, washer
toss, bass fishing, playing baseball, and could often be found
chilling with the boys at the poker room. He was a diehard Toronto
Maple Leafs fan and never missed a game, right up to the very end.
Hopefully one day the Leafs can take home the cup for him. Glen was
the type of man who loved to bring joy into other people’s lives,
whether he was making people laugh with his silly faces or his jokes.
He had an infectious personality that will never be forgotten. Glen
touched the lives of many people in his amazing but short life. He is
at peace now that his struggle is over. He will be dearly missed and
cherished forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held in Glen’s honour
at Truro Horseman’s Club, 288 Main Street, Bible Hill, on
Saturday, April 22, 2023, with a visitation/refreshments from 4-6pm,
followed by a live band from 6-10pm. Your condolences, love, support,
and presence are welcome.
