QUIRT, Gladys Loraine- Passed away peacefully at Gilmore Lodge, Fort Erie on Friday February 2, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Cecil Quirt (1996). Loving mother of Harold (Velvet) Quirt and the late Karen (the late Charles) Condon (2021). Adored grandmother “Gramma” of Jonathan (Melissa), David (Melanie), Paige (Brent), Christian, Stephanie (Derek), Matthew (Melva), Bradley, Wesley (Mindie), and Sherri (James). Caring great-grandmother “Nana” of Russell, Allie, Willow, Nevada, Kiersten, Kayleigh, and Katelynn. Predeceased by her parents William Frederick Wallington & Alice Ada Wallington (nee Mills) and her 9 siblings, Alice, William “Bill”, Olive, Lawrence, James, Doreen, George, Ronald, and Arlene. She is also predeceased by her daughter Karen’s father the late Donald McGarry. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved young Alice Lepage. Gladys was a proud member of the Canadian Corps, and the Moose Lodge in Niagara Falls. She loved her pet black squirrel “Piggy”, and her true love was “Peppi”, her Chihuahua. Gladys loved art, doing crafts, building puzzles, and drawing cartoons, and loved gardening. She loved playing Bingo and was an Elite Gold member at the casino. Gladys enjoyed long walks, had a true passion for nature and loved birds and all animals. She loved watching game shows and doing crosswords. Gladys was quite the poet and even had some poems published in the Niagara Falls Review. Special thanks to the staff of Gilmore Lodge for their love and care and kindness during this difficult time. And thank you to the staff at Morse and Sons Funeral Home for taking good care of our loved one and guiding us through this difficult time. Friends and family are invited to Morse & Son Funeral Home on Saturday February 10, 2024 from 10 am -12 pm. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 12 pm. Cremation will follow with an interment to take place at a later date. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
