It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Gerard Stapleton of Marystown, NL, announce his passing. Gerard passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on February 21, 2024 at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his children, Shawn (Cindy) Stapleton of Marystown, and Tracey (Michael) Quirke of Marystown; grandchildren: Alexandra (Jamie) Shea of St. John’s, NL, Felicia Quirke of Marystown, Darcie Stapleton of Marystown, and Carly Stapleton of Marystown; great-granddaughter, Zoey Shea; brothers: Wayne (Stephanie) Stapleton, Walter Stapleton (Judy Follett), John (Gena) Stapleton, and Brian Stapleton; sister, Leona Mealey; sisters-in-law: Joan Dwyer, Maryann Hanrahan, Delorse (Don) Hannam, Edna (Dick) Power, Wanda (Perry) Cluett, Sharon (Rex) Green, Denise (Brian) Molloy, Bonnie Hanrahan, and Donia (Robert McCarthy); Wayne (Connie) Hanrahan, Kevin (Janet) Hanrahan, and Adrian (Kathy) Hanrahan; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Theophilius and Victoria Stapleton, Gerard was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Marion; parents-in-law, Adrian and Hannah Hanrahan; brothers: Tom Stapleton, Todd Stapleton, and Ray Stapleton; sister, Mary Stapleton; and sister-in-law, Bertha Coady.
Gerard`s family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Marystown (20-22 Creston Blvd) on:
Friday, February 23rd, 2024
11:00AM to 9:00PM.
A funeral service will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on:
Saturday, February 24, 2024
11:00AM
An Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery (Marystown) at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerard’s memory may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
