With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a truly great, loyal, loving, trust-worthy, funny and kindhearted man. He was a loving partner, father, brother, uncle and son who everyone knew as “Peanuts.” He left us at the age of 52 and is going to be greatly missed and cherished.
Gerald leaves behind his beautiful partner, Char Gordon, AKA Babe, and their fur baby Cooper; Adopted father Charles Morin; Two precious sons: Kyle Maier and Joey Longo; 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson; Siblings: Annie Favel, Lori Favel, Kathy Favel, Doris Black Kettle, sister-in-law Shauntay (Patrick) Scott, Gordon Favel, Ruby Peekeekoot Jenneen Turnins Robe, and Didi Ironchild. He is also survived by uncles Thomas Favel and Mike Lalibertee, Gordon Keewatin, Maurice Keewatin; Aunties Edna Brass and Eileen Rinfoal, Marie Piapot, and Lorna Standingready, as well as numerous nephews and nieces that he loved and cherished.
Gerald was predeceased by his mother Irene Favel and father Gerald Money Bird Sr. who he loved with his whole heart; Grandparents Charlie & Annie Favel, and Samuel and Gladys Moneybird; Aunties Annie Favel, Mary Kehler, Rose Kay, Myrtyle Moneybird, Pearl Okeeweehow; Uncles Charles Favel, John Nanapay, and Albert Favel; Brothers Herbert Favel, George Favel, Rick Favel, and brother-in-laws Harold Peekeekoot; Sister Janice Favel; Nephews Charles Favel, Brandon Stonechild, Jonah Moneybird, Jarrid Moneybird and many cherished cousins on both sides.
A Wake will take place on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 4:00 PM on Kawacatoose First Nation at the Asiniw-Kisik Education Campus in the gym. Funeral Services will be held the following morning, Saturday, January 27, at 10:00 AM, in the same location. (The family respectfully requests no children under the age of 12 present).
