It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gayle Carol Haustein of Stettler, Alberta, beloved wife of the late Walter Eric Haustein, who passed away peacefully at the Stettler Hospital on December 8, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
Gayle was born in Franklin, Manitoba, and later moved to Alberta, where she spent much of her life. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman, working in Hail and Crop Insurance, and also fulfilling the roles of a homemaker and farmer.
Throughout her life, Gayle was passionate about many things. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, curling, snowmobiling, and photography. One of her greatest joys was spending time with family and friends, especially while camping in the outdoors.
Gayle’s contributions and accomplishments were many. She represented the Dauphin, Manitoba Curling Club in the prestigious Scotties Tournament and received numerous Years of Service awards for her dedicated work in the Hail and Crop Insurance industry.
Gayle is survived by her children: Susan (Randy) Quesseth, Judy (Casey) Cook, Kim Weaver, Tanya (Cameron) Cassels, Teresa (John) Penner, Kevin (Brenda) Haustein, and Eric (Brenda) Haustein; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; sister Delores (Lloyd) Stegg; sisters-in-law Connie Haustein, Margaret (Allyn) Parr; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
Gayle is predeceased by her husband Walter Eric Haustein; parents John and Augustine Walters; son Ken White; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Shauna Haustein; son-in-law Tom Weaver.
