The family announces with the heaviest of hearts the passing of Gaston Talbot on Saturday November 11, 2023, at the age of 76 years surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 53 years to Therese Talbot (nee Gignac), father of Suzanne Secord (Marc) and proud grandfather of Ryan and Jenna Secord. Predeceased by his parents Simone and Lucien Talbot, sister Diane Paradis and his mother-in-law Blanche Gignac (Alcide). He will be sadly missed by his sister Paulette Gravelle (late George) and Gerry Talbot (Jeannine). Also left to mourn are his sister-in-law Linda Simoneau (Peter), many nieces and nephews, cousins and cherished friends from near and far.
Gaston was a native of Gogama where he worked as a scaler for the Ministry of Natural Resources for over 33 years until he retired in 1997. Gaston loved spending his retirement at the camp with his family and friends. Gaston had a passion for workmanship, from building the smallest thing into full sized projects. He had an enjoyment for his morning ritual of making puzzles and scratching a few lottery tickets. He also enjoyed playing a little game of Saturday night TV Bingo.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9 am to 11 am and followed by a funeral service at the Paroisse Notre Dame du Rosaire in Gogama. Interment will take place for the family followed by a lunch at the Community Center.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted with LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gogama Helping Hands will be greatly appreciated.
