Gary James Webb – 78, Great Village. It is with
heavy hearts that the family of Gary James Webb announces his passing
on Tuesday evening, September 26, 2023, at Debert Court, Long Term
Care, with his family by his side, surrounding him in love and music.
Dad was born in Economy, where it was always home to him, to the late
Elonzo and Helen (nee Fleet) Webb.
He grew up helping his father in the woods and tending to
their fish weir on the beautiful, saltwater mud flats of the Minas
Basin. Dad was a carpenter by trade and a member of Local Union #1392
of United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, New
Glasgow, since 1994. He also had his own business, spending many years
repairing homes, building, renovating, restoring, and roofing. In his
twenties, work took him to Massachusetts. This is where on a blind
date Dad met the love of his life, Mom. They built a beautiful life
together raising three children and shared many adventures together.
Their love for each other was a true testament right to the very
end.
Dad loved being outside, whether it was fishing, hunting,
side by siding or growing his «patatas», he enjoyed every
minute of it. His biggest enjoyment was his grandkids. He was known as
Beeba, Grandfather and Grampie; his eyes would light up when he would
see them come through the door. He was so proud of them right up to
his last days.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 52 years,
Marilyn «Muffy» (nee Mack); daughter, Holly Miller (Jeff);
grandson, Ryan (Josie); granddaughter, Kamryn; son, Nathan Webb (Amy);
grandson Hunter; daughter, Mindy Miller (Scott); granddaughter, Erin;
like a son, Craig Beairsto (Brigitte); brothers, Timothy (Marion),
David; sisters, Linda Roberts (Burton), Lorna Crossman, Kathy Gilbert
(Patrick); many nieces and nephews that he adored; special niece,
Sherri Webb. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his infant
brother, Merton; infant sister, Gail; beautiful sister, Gloria
Picchione.
A very heartfelt thank you to the staff at Debert Court, your
kindness and exceptional care will never be forgotten. Not only did
you show our father compassion and love, but you also all provided the
same to our family. Heaven is having one heck of a
«PAR-TAY»!
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October
1, 2023 at the Economy Recreation Centre (front rooms). Private family
graveside service to be held previously at Mahon Cemetery, Great
Village. If so desired, donations in Gary’s memory to Economy
Recreation Centre are welcomed.
