Obituary
It is with broken hearts, we the family announce the passing of Garry Rudachyk suddenly on February 16, 2023. He was surrounded by friends and coworkers, who tried very hard, but in vain, to save him. We his family, would like to thank these individuals for all these efforts. They are so very appreciated.
Garry was born on December 11, 1959, to Taras “Ted” Rudachyk and Cora Ethel «Marjorie” Rudachyk. Garry’s childhood was kept busy with various sports as well as hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather. Garry cherished these memories. Garry met the love of his life, Donna (nee Cooper) Rudachyk, when he was only 16 years old. They soon started a family and were married March 31, 1978. Their firstborn son, Shaun, was born in 1978, followed by a second son, Sheldon, in 1979, and a daughter, Connie, in 1981. Garry and Donna enjoyed 45 years of marriage.
Garry was a hardworking, honest, humorous, stern and caring family man.
There was nothing that was more important to Garry than his family. Garry was always willing to help a person out. He was a career semi driver for 30 plus years.
While his family was young, he instilled in them his love of the outdoors through hunting, camping, fishing, berry and mushroom picking. They formed many memories out at his grandparents homestead as well. Showing them how not to climb a tree, how to tame crows, and how to cook over an open flame. He later instilled this in his grandchildren as well. These times were made even more memorable by Garry’s sense of humour. Everyone who knew him knew his sense of humour.
Garry was an avid gardener. He always enjoyed planting a garden and reaping the benefits. He was great with animals and raised many throughout his life.
As we loved you forever in life, we will love and miss you until we meet you again.
He will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
Garry is predeceased by his parents, Taras “Ted” and Cora Ethel “Marjorie” Rudachyk, and his sister, JoAnne Rutledge – Smith.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Donna Rudachyk; his children: Shaun (Brianna) Rudachyk, Sheldon (Karen) Rudachyk and Connie (Donald) Hamm; his grandchildren: Mary, Shannyn, Nevaeh, Gracie, Zaiden, Sidney and Gemma; his brother, Kevin (Shelley) Rudachyk; and niece and nephews: Ashley, Brandon, and Terrace; as well as many friends and co-workers.
The family would like to sincerely thank all those who tried to keep Garry with us. To all the friends, family for all the time, food, flowers and money we have received already. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Garry Rudachyk.
