Obituary
Frank Ernest Bercik passed away at the age of 86, at his home in Viking on August
22, 2024.
Frankie was the last surviving member of the Jerry and Anna Bercik family. He was born in Viking and spent his entire life in the Viking area. He farmed with his brothers Joe and Charlie and when he retired he moved into town. Frankie was a very quiet, gentle person who enjoyed time with his family. He was always willing to help. When the new arena was built and the call went out for volunteers to
help with the painting, he spent countless hours there with a paint brush quietly lending a hand. Once the facility was open he was there almost every weekend watching hockey, and was a regular user of the walking track.
Frankie was predeceased by parents, brothers Joe and Charlie, sisters and brothers-in-law Hedy and Frank Ploc, Helen and Chuck Ross, Annie and Victor Sumyk, and his niece Laura Bercik. He is survived by his sister-in-law Judy, nieces and nephews: Rick (Sara) Ploc, Maryann (Garry) Wolosinka, Theresa Suddaby, Linda Jackson, Jean (Gil) Dubois, Jerry (Dawn) Sumyk, Jenny (Jamie) Langner and numerous grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the Prague Cemetery on Friday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Robert Lee officiating. Donations may be made to the Battle River Community Foundation for the Prague Cemetery Account, 4870 – 50 Street, #201, Camrose, AB T4V 1P9, or to Holy Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Viking, AB.
Family ties won’t be broken in Heaven
For we’ll all be together on that shore
There will be no good-byes
To bring tears to our eyes
Cause the circle won’t be broken anymore
