Frances “Fran” Pilkey (nee Paton), of Chadderton, England, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, in White Rock, BC at the age of 83. Fran was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Roger. Fran will be lovingly remembered by her 9 children and their spouses, Ron (Stacey), Ken, Brian (Gail), Dean (Theresa), Sandy, Shane (Nicole), Chris, Dayna, and Andrew (Loralee). Fran will also be remembered by her 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Fran was caring and had much love to give to others. Along with raising her children she also was a full-time care support for women with special needs. Fran was known to always have an open door and room at the table for anyone who wanted to share a cup of tea, some fresh baking or needed an ear to listen.
Fran loved entertaining and bringing family together for holidays and birthdays. The events she hosted will always be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Fran will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her gift for banter and creative writing and poetry. She was also a great lover of chocolate and shopping, and was known to always light up a room with her beautiful smile.
Prayers and viewing will be offered on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at Precious Blood Parish, 17475 59 Ave, Surrey, BC at 10:00am with a Funeral mass to follow at 11:00am. The family will host a reception and refreshments in the Parish hall after the funeral until 2:00pm.
