Passed away peacefully at Hospice of Windsor on July 29, 2023 at the age of 76.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years Jacqueline Larocque (nee. Guignard).
Beloved Dad to Monique (Stéphane Thibeault), Sonia Duclos.
Beloved step-dad to Bernice (Donald), Harold (Ida) Lanteigne, and Linda (Late John 2020) Lanteigne.
Cherished Grandpa and Pépé to Julien, Steeve (Cynthia), Melissa (Jeremy), Allan (Dana), Marie – Michelle, Alyson.
Great Papa and Pépé to Genevieve, Emmanuel, Brooklyn, Leila, Rowan, Jaxon, and a little boy Aiden on the way.
Uncle to Mabel (Rene). Special friend to Germaine and his coffee buddies in New Brunswick and George and Chad. Special friend to his dog Mika. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins here and in New Brunswick.
Brother to Sergine and predeceased by his brothers Blaise and Desneige.
Brother in Law to Jaddus (Madeline), Theo (Carmen), and Sister in Law Pauline (Late Jerome), and the late Steve (Dorothy), Simone (Fred), Roger (Adrianne), Valier, Valmont (Clara), Alfa (Layola), Lillian (Johnny), and Yvonne (Percy).
Predeceased by his parents Zelma and Johnny.
Fortunat loved fishing and clamming and was always most at home near the water. Fortunat and Jacqueline made yearly trips to New Brunswick to visit their family and spend time in their hometown. His daily trip to Pillette Dock to watch the fisherman and the boats brought him much joy. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his buddies and, of course their trips to Tim Hortons for coffee.
