Ferol Elizabeth Fulowski (Curts) Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, a long time resident of High River Alberta,
Ferol Elizabeth Fulowski (Curts). She passed away peacefully at the age of 91 with family at her side at her home at Swan Evergreen in Calgary.
Ferol is survived by her children David (Carol), Rick (Carol) and Cheryl (Lee), her grandchildren Elizabeth (Trevor), Craig, (Zsanett) and Caitlin (Alex) and her great grandchildren Nell, Zoe, William, Miles. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and Cathy Reynen, mother of Elizabeth.
She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Edward Fulowski, her parents Victor & Elizabeth Curts and sisters Alice Goplen, Vera Schneider, Florence Edmunds.
Ferol’s creativity was evident in her oil and water colour landscape paintings which can be found throughout the High River and area community. She found time to attend nursing school while in Whitehorse where she graduated with honours. She loved the outdoors, gardening and camping with her family.
Ferol and family moved many times in service of Ed’s military career which required packing up the house and 3 kids (David, Rick & Cheryl), moving to the next base which included Winnipeg, Moose Jaw, Whitehorse and Calgary. The final posting in 1967 was to Calgary where her parents and 3 sisters lived. When Ed retired from the military they made the move to High River.
Ferol was very proud of her community and lived her life following her beliefs that were cultivated while attending the High River Baptist church. Ferol and Ed did many hours of bible study and volunteering in their church and community. Their lives were enriched by the congregation, neighbours and friends who supported each other through good and bad times.
Many of those friends continued to support Ferol during the last 2 years of her life which were in Calgary at Swan Evergreen Village by Origin. This move allowed her to be close to family.
A memorial service will be held in the High River Baptist Chruch, 514160 – 121 Street E (located at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 194A) in High River.
