Evelyn Vada Hardwick Obituary
It is with blessed and peaceful hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Vada Stifle Hardwick, beloved Mom, Grandma, Auntie and friend to many.
Evelyn leaves behind her children David (Connie), Beverly (Bob Lovell), Brenda (Gerry Will), Gary (Billy-Jo), Norma (Kelly Albert) and Tracy Hardwick,14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Evelyn was predeceased by her second husband Brian Hardwick, the father of her children Faye McBride, her son Douglas McBride and 2 grandchildren Tim and Ed McBride. Also predeceased by daughter-in-law Sharon McBride son-in-law Bob Herzog. She was also predeceased by her lifelong friend Margie King-Hunter who was born on the same day in the same hospital.
Evelyn was born to the parents Edward and Ida Stifle on October 20, 1929 in Hanna, Alberta and raised in Sunnynook, Alberta along with her four siblings brothers John, Vernon, sisters Mary and Pauline. She always wondered why she was the longest living in their family. Throughout her life she lived in many different Alberta towns, the longest being her home in the Fairview area of Calgary. She moved to Strathmore, Alberta when she turned 80 and has resided at Sagewood Community Centre since 2018.
Evelyn’s lifelong passion was her family and this permeated her whole life. She had a great desire to live to be 95 and she did live a good full life. She was a faithful friend and a second mother to many; she will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sagewood for their compassion and care.
A funeral service will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (221 4 ave Strathmore, AB) at 11:00 a.m.
