ETHAN MICHAEL BATES
September 14, 2005 – October 20, 2023
Ethan was born in Truro, NS to Michael and Shelly (Tattrie) Bates. Along with his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Tayler (Matt and future nephew) and Kristen; grandparents, Judy and Frank Hennessey, Floyd and Betty Tattrie, Marion Bates as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ethan was predeceased by grandfather, Edward (Garner) Bates.
Ethan was a student at Holland College enrolled in Architectural Technology, doing what he had a passion for since he was eight years old. He loved going on his four-wheeler with his grandfather as well as dirt biking with his Dad. He loved music and had an extensive collection of cassettes and LPs. Along with his love for music, Ethan was also a very talented bass player. He was known to be always fashionable with his unique style. Ethan had a sophisticated vocabulary that often confused his friends and family and was always full of facts and trivia to educate his family members. We always knew Ethan was around. His contagious laugh and beautiful smile which lit up the whole room. Ethan’s favourite thing to do was spending time with his family whom he loved very much. In keeping with the wishes of his family, the service and interment will be held privately. Donations in Ethan’s memory can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) at at the following link.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.
