It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Esther Mary Stone of Grand Le Pierre announces her passing. Esther passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023, at the age of 88.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Garland Barnes (Vivian) of Carter’s Cove and Frank Stone (Eliza) of Grand Le Pierre; grandchildren, Rosalind (Derrick), Robin (Shane), Rodney (Diane), Preston, Valerie (Mike) and Coady (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Logan, Mariska, Mackenzie, Abigail, Koby, Karlie, Mackenna, Ally, CJ and Grayson; sisters, Mabel Hardiman of Grand Le Pierre and Sarah Dyke of Gander; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.
Esther was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Stone; parents, Archibald & Sarah Barnes; brother, John Barnes; sisters, Rebecca Lace (William) and Carrie Dodge (Thomas); brothers-in-law, Reginald Hardiman and Carl Dyke; and parents-in-law, Frederick & Sarah Stone.
The Stone Family will be accepting visitors at PENINSULA FUNERAL HOME, Creston South on
Thursday, February 9
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
In honoring her wishes, cremation will follow. A graveside service will be planned this coming summer.
In Esther’s memory, in-lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Anglican Cemetery Fund, Port Au Bras.
