April 15th, 1947- April 12th, 2024
With saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our precious Sarah. Born on April 15th, 1947, she was 3 days away from celebrating her 77th birthday.
Sarah was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Street. She grew up in Spillar’s Cove, but later moved to Catalina, and then to Port Union where she resided for the last 47 years with her brother Alfred and late wife Minnie.
If you knew Sarah you loved her. She was an angel on earth. A gentle soul that was kind, patient, thoughtful, and caring. Sarah was nonjudgemental and always saw the best in everyone.
Sarah led a simple life and was always thankful for the little things. She cherished time with family and loved get togethers and family functions. A day on the berry hills with sister Millicent or a day shopping were some of her favourite pastimes. Despite her love for shopping, her famous words when she left the store were always «They got nothing in there». Although Sarah didn’t have kids of her own, she was a constant in the lives of her nieces and nephews. She adored every one of them and was always overjoyed to see them. She was equally loved by them.
The family is left with an unfillable void, but knowing she is walking the streets of Heaven brings us much comfort. Sarah had a strong relationship with God. Attending Church on Sundays was her top priority. Thank you to her friends Bruce, Joan and Bill for always getting her there and home safely.
Sarah leaves to mourn her Brother- Alfred Street, Sisters- Anne Fleming (Wilson), and Millicent Dyke (Clayton). Nieces and Nephews; Paul (Juanita), John (Colleen), Jeanette (Ken), Jason (Renee), Connie (Dennis), Peggy (Rex), Clayton (Bernice), Roland (Dana), Shawn (Jessica), Millicent (John). Several great and great great nieces and nephews, too many to name.
Sarah was predeceased by Brother Raymond Street, and Sister in Laws, Evelynn Street and Minnie Street.
Thank you to Sarah’s Home Support Workers, both past and present. We are forever grateful for the love and care you provided over the last 18 months.
To the Medical Teams in Bonavista, Clarenville, and St. John’s. Please accept our deepest gratitude.

Visitation will be held at Strathie’s Funeral Home, Catalina on Monday and Tuesday, April 15th and 16th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00- 9:00pm
Funeral to take place on Wednesday, April 17th at 2:00pm from Holy Martyers Anglican Church, Port Union. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church, Catalina.
