Died peacefully in her sleep at Lakeside Long Term Care in Toronto on Monday, August 21, 2023, at age 91. Beloved wife of Antony (Paddy) Parr (deceased), and dear mother of Jennifer, Jonathan and his wife Sandra, Kate and her husband David, and dear grandmother of Haley, Charlotte, and Ty Parker, and Murdoch and Ellie Parr.
Elizabeth was born and grew up in the gold mining town of Timmins before making her way to attend Victoria College, University of Toronto. After attaining her bachelor’s degree she studied at the Canadian Theatre School where she met her husband-to-be and won the Bland Award for writing the best solo show. After working as an actor for a few years she followed her other love of writing and editing by working in the magazine world, first at Macleans and Toronto Life, and then as the award-winning Senior Editor at Chatelaine. She will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 4th from 1–3 p.m. at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave West (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street).
