In loving memory of Elizabeth “Betty-Ann” Dixon (née MacMillan), 87 years. Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre of Sudbury on July 4, 2024.
Beloved wife of Robert (Bob), predeceased in 2014.
Loving mother of Debra (Stephen Goode), Elizabeth (Leo Frappier), Bruce (Sharon) Dixon, and Barbara (Bradley Colden).
Cherished grandmother of Janet (Mark), Christopher (Jessie), Robert, Eric, Katie (Chris), Renee, Curtis (Miriam), Kyle, Kayla (Joe), and great-grandmother of Anysha, Matthew, Faith, Connor, Mason, Blake, Keira, Arland, Theo, and Lincoln.
Predeceased by her parents Alex and Ida (Hodgson) MacMillan.
Dear sister of Lionel MacMillan (Ethel), both predeceased, Myrle MacMillan (Patrisha), both predeceased, Patrisha Nolan (Paul, predeceased), and Heather Furlani (Ray).
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends.
Betty-Ann worked at Sudbury General Hospital for 22 years as an RNA, ending her career happily in the maternity ward where she had the joy of being the first to care for several of her grandchildren after their births. She was very proud of her work with the Eastern Star, rising to the position of Worthy Matron. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and love of family and friends.
Betty-Ann and Bob enjoyed traveling the world together but were always happy to return home. Now she is finally at rest with her loving husband again.
Thank you to everyone who has passed on condolences to our family on the passing of our mom. Losing a parent is incredibly sad, but the burden is made easier to bear by the love and kind words shared by friends. Thank you all.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre of Sudbury at the Clarion for taking care of mom.
At Betty-Ann’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Cremation with a family committal service will be at the family plot. A celebration of life is being held August 16, 2024, between 1:00 and 4:00 at Royal Canadian Legion, 1553 Weller St, Sudbury, ON.
