Elijah James Geeting (Eli), left this world to join Jesus in heaven on December 25, 2023, in the arms of his mom and dad at 21 months old. Born on March 15, 2022, in London, Ontario, Eli brought immense joy and happiness to his family and all those who knew him. He loved fiercely and was fiercely loved by his family.
Eli was a happy and calm-tempered little boy who had a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He had a loving nature and was adored by everyone around him. Eli was a true boy at heart, with a deep affection for Paw Patrol, trucks, and airplanes. He loved playing with his sisters, Ava and Elizabeth, and his joyous spirit was evident whenever he danced to the sound of music or eagerly made his way to the snack cupboard.
Eli will be deeply missed by his parents, Emily and Kevin Geeting and his sisters, Ava and Elizabeth. He was cherished by his grandparents, Earl and Brenda Wagler, Lisa Prime (Moe) and Marc Geeting and his aunts and uncles, including Joel Wagler and Hope and Nate Geeting. He will be missed by Veronica. He also leaves behind a loving network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who cherished him dearly. Eli’s memory will forever be held close by his great-grandma, Marilyn Geeting. Eli is also survived by Bill and Carol Prime and Brad Geeting.
Eli was predeceased by his great grandparents, Katie and Wilmer Wagler and Ellen and Elton Leis.
To honor Eli’s life, a visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 27, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg. A Celebration of Life will be held at Tavistock Mennonite Church on Thursday, December 28, at 11am, followed by interment and a lunch gathering. In honor of Eli’s love of trucks, the family invites you to drive your truck and fill the parking lots for both the visitation and the funeral.
For those unable to attend the service in person, the funeral will be available via livestream.
Eli’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his infectious smile and loving spirit will continue to live on in their cherished memories. We praise God for 21 beautiful months with Eli.
