Obituary
We are heartbroken to announce Eli’s passing on April 21, 2024 at Roseway Hospital Shelburne at the age of 95. He was born on October 19, 1928 in Buren, Newfoundland to Charles and Laura (Foote) Hollett. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Eli was a fisherman all of his working life. He loved camping, hunting and fishing in his younger years. Playing cards and doing puzzles were a favorite past-time. He was dedicated to family, they were his world. A true gentleman in every possible way.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce (Levy). Daughters; Judy (Michael) Gillis, Toronto, ON. Darlene (Bill) Dobson, Stoney Creek, ON. Laura (Warren) Chapin – Dover, New Hampshire, Dawn (Stephen) Olsen, Halifax, N.S., Daughter in law, Deanne Hollett, Pictou. Stepchildren Terry (Frank)Townsend and David Cotter of Lockeport. 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and two step granddaughters.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Benny Hollett.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Roseway Hospital for their loving care & compassion while Eli was in their care. Special thanks to Lockeport First Responders for their quick response & caring attitude.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A graveside service will take place at the Lockeport Cemetery on Friday April 26th at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Garren officiating. Family flowers only by request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lockeport First Responders in Eli’s name. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
