Passed away peacefully at Quinte Hospice on Monday, May 29, 2023. Elaine was 93.
Elaine, a farm girl from Dunsford, Ontario, was the daughter of the late Walter and Lorna Brien. Beloved wife of Doug and loving mother of Brien Preston (Michelle Doucette) of Trenton, Laurie Preston (Miriam Adams) of Buck Lake and Susan Murphy (Stephen) of Toronto. Elaine and her family lived in Trenton, Gimli (Man). , London (UK) and Ottawa, before landing in Belleville, which was her home for over 60 years.
Ever remembered by her grandchildren Sean Murphy, Andrew Murphy, Michael Murphy and Annie Preston. To her Grandchildren, Nana was a teacher, historian, letter writer, conservationist, gardener and genealogist. Nana will be lovingly remembered in all our hearts forever.
Blessed with an exceptional singing voice and piano playing, Mom’s love of music brought great joy to herself and others. Mom was a member of the church choir, and a lead vocalist at family gatherings.
In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church (Belleville) on June 17th 2023 at 11:00. Inurnment to take place at Dunsford cemetery at a later date.
