NEILSEN, Eileen Jane — With a heavy heart, we announce Eileen’s peaceful passing with her family by her side at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, April 8th, 2023, in her 85th year—beloved wife of 57 years to Don Neilsen. Dear mother to Janeil Neilsen, and Terry Neilsen.
Eileen always made friends no matter where she was—smiling at someone or saying a kind word to brighten someone’s day. At the hospital, this was no different, where both staff and patient roommates commented on her kindness, compassion, humour, and vivacious personality.
Born in Burgeo, Newfoundland, to the late Henry Martin and Agusta Ingram. Eileen, the youngest of 8 children, is survived by her sister Mary Foote (Eric). Predeceased by her six older siblings and their spouses, Alma Bugden, Myrtle Bennett, Sandy Ingram, Joseph Ingram, Leah Pearce, and Hubert Ingram, all in Newfoundland.
She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews in Newfoundland, across Canada, and Chicago.
With respect to Eileen’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Trenton United Church.
