Obituary of Edward Humphry
Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday November 1, 2024; Edward Gerald Humphry (Ted) of Prescott, age 89 years. Dear father of Sharon Doupe, Glenn Humphry (Barbara) and Valerie Beaudoin (Richard). Survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Ted is predeceased by his wife Elaine (nee Empey), his parents Edward and Norma Humphry (nee Mikel), brother William (Bud) and his wife Brenda (nee Schoales), son Steven (Linda) and grandson David.
Ted was born on April 24, 1935 in Trenton. He moved to Prescott in his early 20’s, where he met the love of his life while working at RCA Victor. He left RCA Victor to become a Foreman at the DuPont Canada Inc site in Maitland, where he remained until his retirement. Ted enjoyed time spent with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and being on Charleston Lake where he and Elaine had a home on Sand Bay. After living in Brockville for the past 12 years, he recently moved to the Mayfield Retirement Residence in Prescott.
In keeping with Ted’s wishes, no formal service or celebration of life will be held. A private graveside service will take place at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Maitland on Thursday November 7, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Program or Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
