Obituary
Our lives were forever changed on October 13th 2024 when our beloved husband, father, poppy, brother, uncle and friend, Earl Walter Pike peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family, at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health center.
Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Earl was the son of the late Martin and Harriett Pike (nee Chant). Earl was also predeceased by his only son Cyril as well as seven of his brothers and two of his sisters.
Earl leaves to mourn with a lifetime of special memories, his loving and darling wife of 57 years, Deanna; his adoring daughters, Patsy (Andy), Colleen (Wayne) Bird and Denise (Raymond) Anderson; precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, Michael, Adrian, Neil, Andrea, Corbin, Robert, Charles, AJ, Gareth, Miranda, Melanie and Rory. Also mourning his loss are his brothers and sisters Leonard (Brenda), Kathleen, Florence, and Henry as well as his best friends and buddies Bill Scott, Edward Fudge, Gary Tapp and Norman Ingram. Earl leaves behind a very large circle of extended family and friends who will deeply feel his loss.
Family meant the world to Earl, they truly were his passion in life, from his immediate family all the way down to nieces and nephews and everyone in between. He was a jack of all trades who could fix anything, in one way or another. He enjoyed cars and woodworking and loved the water. Earl was a teller of tall tales, and his cherished family will deeply miss his stories and remember him through them.
The family would like to express their endless gratitude to Dr. Blecher and Dr. Thomas, as well as the phenomenal nurses and staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, for the care and compassion given to Earl and to them, in recent times as well as over the many years of sickness endured by Earl.
Family and friends are welcomed to visit on Tuesday, October 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. In keeping with Earl’s wishes, cremation will follow with funeral service taking place on Thursday, October 17th at 3 pm from Salvation Army Citadel with interment at St. James Anglican Cemetery.
