Phelan, Douglas …. passed away peacefully at Belleville General Hospital on September 20, 2024 at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of Joanne Hoekstra and step father of Stefanie and Ben. Loving father to Laurie, Kelly (Jake O’Connor) and Carrie (Luc Powell) with first wife Gwen. Cherished grandfather of Emily and Chloe Bush, Madison (Ty Lindsey), Sam and Zoey O’Connor, Lia and Parker Powell. Great grandfather of Tripp and Fielding Lindsey. Loving brother to Chris (Cathy) and Eric and Angela (Dave Amerson). Doug will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Alice Phelan and brother Brian Phelan. Respecting Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at The Community Hall in Brighton on Friday October 4th from 2:00 to 6:00pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am on October 5th at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kingston. If desired, donations to The Brighton Barn Theatre would be appreciated by the family.
