It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Dad, Doug Osborne. He passed peacefully last night at home.
He lived a full life facing many challenges, which he faced with a gentle heart. Born in Toronto in 1935, he grew up in St Thomas, later marring and moving to Hamilton. A dedicated father, he always had time for his children, quietly sacrificing behind the scenes to see them succeed.
Later in life he moved to Strathroy, where he enjoyed the peace and relaxed pace of life, all the while getting involved in the senior community sharing his passion for making stained glass art with others.
Facing several health challenges, he moved last year to Alexandria to be in the care of, and close to his children and grand children.
Doug is survived by his two children; Richard & Terylanne and their spouses, his 5 grand children, and 4 great grand children. He is also survived by his younger brother Robert of Strathroy, of whom he thought very dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents John Leslie Osborne & Beatrice Maude (Janet) Osborne nee Lockwood, his son Randy John Osborne, and his younger brother Kenneth Charles Osborne.
As per his wishes, Dad did not desire a funeral service. He wished to be cremated and laid to rest in Alexandria, Ontario.
As expressions of sympathies, donations in memory of Douglas may made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
