Obituary of Dorothy Ellen Arrand (née Harding)
Peacefully, on Friday, May 10, 2024 at LHSC, University Hospital, Dorothy Arrand passed away at the age of 97.
Beloved wife of 74 years to the late Robert “Bob” Arrand (2022). Loving Mom of Carol (Tom) Tyler, Bob Jr. (Faith) Arrand and Brenda (Daryl) Davidson. Dear grandma of Andrea (Nick), Kimberly (Shawn), Sandra (Todd), Craig (Kyla), Cassandra (Steven) and Brandon (Danielle). Great-grandma of Lincoln, Phoenix, Kane, Violet, Everson, Isla, Kennedy, Jacob and Carter. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Utman and her brother George Harding. Forever in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Kensington Village Retirement Residence for all their care and support.
Dorothy loved fishing at the Key River with her husband Bob, she was extremely athletic and had a passion for basketball and swimming. Dorothy was a member of the London Shamrocks 1945 Ladies Eastern Canadian Basketball Champion team and in 2007 the team was inducted into the London Sports Hall of Fame at Budweiser Gardens in London. She was also a very competitive swimmer for St. Julien Park and won numerous medals throughout the city. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place at a later date.
Those who wish may make memorial donations to a charity of choice in memory of Dorothy.
