Doris Palmer Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Doris Lavender Palmer, who has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2024, after a long illness, surrounded by her beloved family. Doris was born on June 13, 1925, in London, England, to the late Edward and Daisy Lavender.
Family was everything to Doris and her unwavering Faith brought her great comfort. She had an unwavering willingness to help others and possessed a gentle yet impactful presence. A wonderful listener, she always seemed to know the right words to say. Throughout her life, Doris enjoyed working alongside her husband, LeRoy, at Apollo Construction, PAL Constriction and other ventures. In retirement, Doris looked forward to travelling with LeRoy, especially going to Florida every year.
Doris had a variety of passions, including knitting, bowling, square dancing, camping, traveling, and dressmaking. She was a dedicated member of the Forrest Hill Baptist Church for years. Doris also attended Kingsway Assembly and the Grace Valley Church.
Doris will be profoundly missed by her daughters, Betty Anne Armstrong (Keith) and Kelly Lanigan (John), as well as her daughter-in-law Jocelyn (the late Lee). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Scott, Janelle, Ashley, Joshua, Lindsay, and Kyle, along with her great-grandchildren: Lyle, Everly, Dawson, Avery, Rose, Jack, Eli, Ben, Cole, Kai, and Kaili, Naomi, and Sunny as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband LeRoy, son Lee, siblings Edward, Daisy, Joseph, Rose and Donald.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Extra Mural KV, Kindred Home Care, and to Dr. Kristofferson for the kindness and compassion shown towards Doris throughout the years.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made towards the charity of the donor’s choice.
