It is with extreme sadness that the family of Donna Lynn Trottier (nee Darjes) announces her passing on December 17, 2023, after an 8-month courageous battle with cancer.
Donna was born on June 23, 1955, in Regina, Saskatchewan to Parents Iona and Carl Darjes, subsequently relocating to Calgary, Alberta in her early childhood. Donna Completed both her elementary and high school education in Calgary.
Donna was gainfully employed in the oil and gas industry in Calgary for 40 years as a Production Accountant. She provided accounting services to numerous oil and gas companies primarily through her own company. In 2014 she retired and relocated with her husband to their acreage property on the Kootenay River near Wardner, B.C.
Donna enjoyed life to its fullest with some favourite activities being camping, RVing, frequent travel to the Hawaiian Islands, primarily Maui, enjoying many sea cruises, and adoring her numerous fur babies (Golden Retrievers). She especially enjoyed exploring the backcountry with her husband Kerry, always with a Golden Retriever or two in tow. She was a great lover of the outdoors and enjoyed the serenity of the lifestyle that country acreage living provided. Donna maintained a special place in her heart for her son Stephen and her three grandchildren, Rune, Cale, and Neiva.
Donna was a self-described Pollyanna, traits of which were readily observed and enjoyed by all those who had the privilege of meeting or knowing her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Kerry, sister, Wilma Ferguson, brother, Gary Darjes (Suzanne), son, Stephen Trottier (Nicole), grandchildren, Rune, Cale, Neiva and her much adored Golden Retriever, Chance.
As per Donna’s request, there will not be a service, memorial, or celebration of life. Memorial donations may be made to Leslie Long Pet Rescue in Cranbrook, BC.
