Donna was born on 18 July 1948 in Toronto, and peacefully passed away at the Brockville General Hospital with family by her side on Sunday October 13, 2024 at the age of 76. Survived by her husband and best friend of 53 years Jerry Richard, Son Michael (Crystal), Grandkids Dayan, Kiernan, Alex and Brody, and of course her Grandpuppies who she asked about everyday Ellie and Tango. Donna is also survived by her brother John-David (Kathy), and sisters Lynda (John), and Beverly (Glen) along with an Aunt to Sonja, Shawn, Tammie, Terri, Tracy, Brandy and Shari. Also mourning her passing are many extended family and friends from the Whitby – Oshawa area as well as locally here in Gananoque.
She was loved by everyone that met her as she had a beautiful soul and a massive heart, willing to do anything for anybody around her. Her love for her family and animals was evident to all who knew her, but her heart was never happier than when she became a grandmother. After spending most of her life in Whitby, she and her husband Jerry moved to Gananoque in 2015 after she retired to be closer to her Son and Grandkids, where she continued to reside until her passing. Donna’s family would like to thank all extended family and friends for their continued love and support during this difficult time.
Visitations will be held at Tompkins Funeral home in Gananoque on Friday 25 October 2024 from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gananoque Legion on Sunday 27 October 2024 from 12 – 4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy donations can be made to Brockville General Hospital which would be appreciated by the family.
