It is with profound sadness that the family of Donato Vitarelli announces his passing on August 2, 2023 at the age of 88. Born in Tufara, Campobasso, Italy on March 28th 1935, he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1965.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Angelina Vitarelli (2023). He will be lovingly remembered by his children Carmen Vitarelli (2004), Mary Vitarell, Pina Vasko (John), and Tony Vitarelli (Kathie). Dearest and much loved Nonno of Nicole (Joey), Joshua (Valerie), Erin (Tracey), Konner, Breanna, Serena, Natalina, and Mateo. Adored and loved bis nonno to Carter, Johnny, Owen, Angelina and Vienna. He was predeceased by parents, Carmen and Maria Vitarelli. Dear brother to Nicola (2017) (Giovannina), Giovanni (Assunta), and Giuseppina Ialonardi (Antonio, 2016). Donato will be missed by nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends in Windsor, New York, Montreal, and Italy.
Donato was a dedicated employee at the University of Windsor for many years, making lasting friendships along the way. With pride, he crafted homemade sausage & prosciutto, while endless hours were devoted to his beloved garden, nurturing his prized fig trees. He found great joy in sharing these many gifts with family and friends.
In the most precious memories, his grandkids will always cherish the times when he sang and danced with them at family gatherings and parties. Those joyous moments filled their hearts with happiness, and they’ll forever treasure the laughter and love they shared together.
We extend our sincerest appreciation to his dear friends, neighbors, and family members who offered unwavering support during his challenging times. Your presence and care were invaluable and made a significant difference during his time of need.

Visitation at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor 519-969-5841 on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Parish prayers at 8:30pm. Funeral services on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 9:30am then to Corpus Christi Church for Mass at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
