Donald W. Moser, age 94, of Belleville, Illinois, died on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his residence.
He was born June 16, 1929, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Earl and Charlotte (Recard) Moser. He married Martha Ann Davis, who passed away in 1993. He later married Carlene (Robertson) Fraser in 1998. She survives.
Also surviving are three children: Elizabeth Brockel of Dittmer, Missouri, Gary (Mary Kay) of Phoenix, Arizona, Donna (Bruce) of Deer Lake, Newfoundland; two step-children: Matthew (Stacey) Fraser of Mascoutah, Illinois, and Joshua Fraser of Mascoutah Illinois; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister Elaine Reed of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and one brother Ron Moser of Snow Flake, Arizona. Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by three brothers: Dick Moser, Paul Moser, and Jerry Moser.
Don was a veteran of the US Air Force. It was while he was stationed in Newfoundland that he met his first wife Ann Davis. Following his military service, he worked as a district manager for Radio Shack and was the former owner of The Opera House Mall in O’Fallon, Illinois. Don was a member of Kiwanis International, serving in the O’Fallon Kiwanis Club for many years. He was passionate about Kiwanis International, winning many awards and helping to start many clubs throughout the state of Illinois. Don believed in giving back to his community and this was seen by all who knew him throughout his life.
A portion of Don’s cremated remains were buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. The remainder of his ashes will be interned with his first wife Ann in Freshwater United Cemetery Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at 11 a.m. His niece, Kim Reed, will lead a short graveside service.
