SHORT-EMPEY, Dominik Thomas Lloyd (December 21, 2008 – December 6, 2023)
It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our much loved son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend to many, Dominik Thomas Lloyd Short-Empey, as the result of a motor vehicle collision, on December 6th, 2023, at the age of 14. Dominik was born in Woodstock, to his much loved and loving parents Jeremy and Christine (Short) Empey, of Langton. Dominik will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who knew him, for his fearless, carefree nature- he truly had a heart of gold. Dominik had a passion for riding dirt bikes, he enjoyed working on them with his dad. Dominik was a well-liked grade 10 student at Valley Heights Secondary School and a dedicated employee at Tim Hortons, Oxford Street, Tillsonburg. Dominik is grieved by his sister Miya Short-Empey, by his girlfriend Carolyn Wiens. Lovingly remembered by his grandparents: Lloyd Empey (Laurie Markham), of Woodstock; Tom (Chere) Short, of St. Williams; Conni Banfield (Dave Bennett), of Bancroft; Tammy Empey, of Ingersoll. Also forever in the hearts of his aunts and uncles: Branden Empey, of Ingersoll, Heidi (Eric VanAlstine), of Ingersoll, Shawn Short, of St. Williams, Jonathon Banfield (Marisa Seth), of Guelph, Jamie (Anthony Froelick), of Tillsonburg, as well as by many cousins and dear friends.
A private family gathering and private viewing has taken place. Cremation followed. Everyone who knew Dominik is invited to attend a public visitation on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023 beyween 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 40 Queen Street, Langton. A public funeral service to celebrate Dominik’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, Langton, under the caring guidance of Chaplain Tina Dias.
