Dolores Gebert passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of
88 years old.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary Walsh and her father and mother-in-law,
Jacob and Olga Gebert. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Edward, daughter Cathy (Randy)
Hatle; sons Ronald (Judy) Gebert, Darryl (Michelle) Gebert and David (Janet) Gebert and her brother
Ronald Walsh and brother-in-law Jacob Gebert. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sarah (Matt), Isaac, Vanessa, Mitchell, Lucy, Maksim and Gabriel and great grandchildren Cayden and Eliza, and her baby girl Heidi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on June 15th, 1935, and attended Loretto High School. She met and married Edward Gebert on Sept. 1st, 1954. Together they raised four children. Most of her life was spent as a stay-at-home mom. Later, once her children were older, she returned to work as a bank teller for the Bank of Montreal. She kept this job until she and Ed moved to Saskatoon when Ed accepted the CEO position for Coop Trust. During this time, she accompanied Ed on many business trips throughout Canada, USA and Europe. In 1997 Ed retired and they moved back to Regina to be closer to family. Their retirement years were spent travelling. They spent winters in Palm Springs, Arizonia,
Mexico and travelled to Minneapolis, Dallas and Calgary to visit family.
Mom was the neighborhood mom. She will be fondly remembered for her cooking and baking which she
loved to share with everyone. She loved the holidays, as evident by her beautiful decorations and she
loved to entertain.
Mom was her son’s biggest fan when it came to Darryl’s hockey career and David’s football career. Anytime her sons had a game, she was there cheering them on in the stands. She loved her crossword puzzles, reading books, listening to Elvis and Neil Diamond, and watching Turner Classic Movies. She was a staunch Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and watching a football game with her was entertaining as she would yell, “Intercept! Fumble! throughout an entire game.
Mom brought joy to anyone who met her. And despite her pain and suffering towards the end she still
kept her sense of humour. Her last days were spent with her family and grandchildren whom she
adored.
Mom is deeply loved and will be sadly missed by those who knew her.
In memory of Dolores and in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the William Booth
Grace Hospice or the Regina Humane Society.

Far above and that I had to leave behind all those I loved dearly. But when I walked through heaven’s gate I felt so much at home, for God looked down at me and smiled and told me welcome Home. So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we are far apart. For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.”
