Obituary of Dianne Rosemary Mitchel
Dianne passed away suddenly and peacefully with family by her side at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Dianne leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Norman Mitchel; daughters Paige (Edward) Domaradzki and Vanessa Hintz; grandchildren Jessica (Olu), Trista (Kevin), Brett (Jazmen), Janessa, Raeanne, and Nicholas; great grandson Tobi; sister Monica (Jim) Delaney; sisters-in-law Carol and Sonia Daman-Willems, Fran (Garris) Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Anne and Howard Daman-Willems; brothers Wayne and Greg Daman-Willems; in-laws Doris and Thomas Mitchel; sister-in-law Martha Orum; brothers-in-law Nicholas (Nicky) Mitchel and Thomas Sr. Orum; and nephews Thomas Jr. Orum and Kevin Delaney.
Dianne finished school and started to work at CBC for a short while. She then moved on, to work at the Bank of Montreal, where she continued to work for over 30 years until her retirement.
Dianne loved going to the family cottage at Gull Lake, spending time with her family and friends, as well as playing cards, going to bingo or an outing to the casino.
Dianne loved to travel. Her travels included Disneyland, Hawaii, Arizona, Las Vegas, even Black Friday shopping in the United States, to finally cruising. She often said “I’m sorry I waited so long to go on a cruise”.
Dianne loved spending time with all her grandchildren. Whether she was babysitting, going to school events and/or sporting events, she was extremely proud of every one of them.
Anyone who knew Dianne knew she loved to bake and always enjoyed when people asked for her recipes. One of her favourites was making sugar cookies with her children, then with the grandchildren, as that was her time with them.
A Memorial will be held on November 29, 2024 at 11:00 am, Holy Redemeer Parish, 264 Donwood Ave, Winnipeg Manitoba.
Thank you to the staff of Holy Family Home for the care and support Dianne received while she resided there.
A huge thank you to Seven Oaks Hospital Urgent Care and Floor 3 U5 for the exceptional care and comfort Dianne received until the end.
A special thank you to Kevin who made this time for us as a family a little easier by making sure there was food, drinks; making sure we ate and drank often; and just being there for every one of us in a different way, allowing us to spend time with our Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
