Obituary
Dennis passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on January 10, 2023. Born in Toronto on May 19, 1961, Dennis Martin McGuinness of Georgian Bluffs, was in his 62nd year.
Loving father of Gavin and Darin McGuinness, both of Clavering. Dear partner of Cathy Gilas of Owen Sound. Loved son of Ruth Wright of Meaford, and brother of Paula McGuinness of Shallow Lake, Bruce McGuinness of Meaford, Evanne Hall and John McGuinness of England. Dennis will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dennis was a classic car enthusiast and a proud member of the Sauble Sunset Cruisers. You could always find him at car shows and he loved showing off his cars to friends and family. He also loved the outdoors. He was an avid skateboarder from a very young age when the sport was just taking off. He was one of the first people to try snowboarding in the Grey Bruce area before the local ski hills would allow it. A small local hill called old smokey was the only hill that would let him on. He also loved windsurfing and tried surfing. Full of energy and always up for an adventure, he will be greatly missed by many.
In keeping with Dennis’ wishes, cremation is taking place and a celebration of his life will be held February 11, 2023 at the Owen Sound Legion. It will be a come and go celebration between 1 and 4 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
